The Diocesan Family Wellness Retreat began on Friday, October 6th, 2023 at the Carmel Mar Thoma Center, Atlanta. The theme of the retreat is Abundant Life: Rediscovering Gods Purpose based on John 10:10.

Following the opening worship service, Rev. Jaisen A. Thomas welcomed the gathering. The Diocesan Episcopa, Rt. Rev. Dr. Isaac Mar Philoxenos, delivered the Presidential Address and officially inaugurated the retreat.

Rev. Dr. Victor Aloyo, President of Columbia Theological Seminary, led the first main talk on the topic of resilience based on 2nd Corinthians 4:7-10. Dr. Aloyo mentioned that in the midst of human struggles and challenges we can remain resilient when we look to the One who created us and when we are focused on the right reality of the resurrection. After the main talk, Dr. Raj Nadella, Associate Professor of New Testament, Columbia Theological Seminary, offered a word of prayer, and the benediction was pronounced by the Diocesan Episcopa.
