In a farewell meeting held on December 21, 2023, at the Atlanta Carmel Mar Thoma Center, the community gathered to honour and bid farewell to Rt. Rev. Dr. Isaac Mar Philoxenos Episcopa, the main visionary behind the Center. The event, presided over by Rev. Skariah Varghese, Vice Chairman of the Center, saw the participation of Mr. John Wyle and Mr. Philip Mathew, who delivered felicitations. During the gathering, Rt. Rev. Dr. Isaac Mar Philoxenos Episcopa emphasized the importance of absolute faith in God and the cooperation of the community in revealing divine plans. The history of the center dates back to its inauguration on December 29, 2018, when the then Metropolitan Joseph Mar Thoma officially opened the doors of the Carmel Mar Thoma Center. The Center, initially acquired from Mount Carmel Christian Church, stands as a testament to a collaborative initiative between the North America and Europe diocese of the Mar Thoma Church and Carmel Mar Thoma Church, Atlanta. The farewell meeting served as a poignant moment to reflect on the journey of the Center, acknowledging the significance of faith, community, and the shared vision that brought the Atlanta Carmel Mar Thoma Center to fruition.
